Here is the situation:

"A" owns a house with an ice problem on the front porch.

"B" is visiting, falls and breaks her ankle & leg.

Afterwards A puts down salt, sand and fans to dry off the porch.

B has surgery on ankle & ligaments and will be 2-3 months recovering.

What should A & B do? Assume A has typical home insurance.

"And now for the rest of the story":
A & B are siblings.
B is unemployed and has a high deductible COBRA insurance.
B won't be able to work without full mobility.

Does this change what actions you would advise for A & B?
