These would seem to be in your area of interest: Remote Control by Nnedi Okorafor (who's not interested in reading about Death's adopted daughter, amiright?), The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune (dangerous children abound), and A Spindle Splintered by Alix E. Harrow (who doesn't love subversive feminism?). Klune has a new book out, Under the Whispering Door, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet.So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish.
I am still waiting on A Spindle Splintered. I rated the other ones as some of the best books that I've read this year.
I read A Spindle Splintered today. I loved it. There are worse things than sleeping for a hundred years.
