A few years ago there was a short but marvellous period when a local music chain (the not-so-strangely-named Newbury Comics; they do sell comics, too) was consistently selling used CDs for anywhere from $1 to $3. They had bins of used material for as much as $8 or $10, but somewhere in the store they were bound to have a stack of cardboard boxes full of stuff for $3 and under.

Oh, Newbury Comics! I love that place. One of the main things I miss about Boston (back when I had a $40 a month comic book habit). I bought my original run Crow comics there, and some of the first issues of The Tick. And some of my favorite CDs, that I would hear when they played them in the store. I bought Red Hot + Blue there. :-) And the Pogues.
