A lawyer in his 60's (me) has often passed his peak in terms of intellect and ability, and yet is at peak earnings. The consensus is that no sane lawyer would walk away from that. But I did. The consensus may be right.


DBF walked away from the law profession at age 50. He was a trial lawyer and hated it. He does a little incidental work work here and there, mostly freebies.

He hated the stress. Money wasn’t worth it.
