Tony died early morning after a terrible three days of a tummy bug and not being able to eat or drink. A doctor came by yesterday afternoon and all vitals were fine.

I suppose it was too much for him though. I expect a call from the coroner later today or tomorrow. Only close family will attend the funeral. I asked my children not to come as there is really nothing for them to do.

Nobody expects the Spanish inquisition.

==============================

It has left everyone the same Ian. His birthday is Saturday. He would have been 54.

I'm numb.

Like Ian I'm so very, very sorry to hear your news and am lost for words.

You're right, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

If there should be anything either of us can do you know we will, you've still got our telephone number haven't you.

Thanks jo. I do think I have the number. I'm just too numb right now to think straight. I have so many things to sort.

Thank you ThyPeace. Sorting the paperwork is hard. He didn't believe in joint bank accounts. Probably a thing from his first marriage.

Sorting the bloody paperwork is always one of the biggest pains in the arse when this happens. The government could get rid of a lot of the paperwork sorting if they wanted to, especially as relates to certain taxes. But for their own selfish reasons, I doubt they will anytime soon.

I had to call the bank to close his credit and debit card and say he was mugged last night and is in hospital otherwise they wouldn't have cancelled the cards without me having his death certificate and showing them it in person at a local branch. Since the coroner has decided to do a post mortum, which won't be done till Monday or Tuesday, I won't have that till towards the end of the week. Things are in a bit of a mess at the moment.

ThyPeace, and maybe two more.

Thanks Ed. I think we all were. There isn't/wasn't anything that could be said. The funeral will be 25 January. Immediate family only due to issues within the family at 2:15pm. I will say it is at The Meadow Cemetary on a working farm near Doncaster. A natural burial site in a fruit tree meadow. There are apples, pears and cherry trees. He will be by a wooden slat fence where sheep graze on the other side so there will be lambs munching the grass above him in spring. I think he would have liked it.

Yes, cemetery is spelled wrong. And the funeral is at 2:15pm not the issues within the family going to happen then.

And by such errors we see your humanity and pain, though your words are calm. And it’s quite all right to have and acknowledge it.

Hugs.
