Several years ago, I opened a Money Market account at my credit union to try to begin saving money. I had money direct deposited from my monthly paycheck. I had a very hard time leaving the money alone...very undisciplined. I was talking to my loan officer there one day and mentioned that I was having trouble leaving the money alone. With my permission (of course) he put a flag on the account so that I could not withdraw money without first driving to the CU, meeting with him, and have him ask me if I really needed the money, and generally hassle me about making a withdrawal. I think I only went in there once to be drilled by him...saving was easier after that.. :)

He eventually left the CU and I had the flag removed but, it got me started...

I was just thinking about this today and thought I would share it...might work for some of you undisciplined savers. :)
