A vet once told me that dogs don't dream - that it is just muscles twitching, etc.

I just don't believe it. I had a dog who ran in his sleep - all four legs going like crazy. And as for cats, my Bubba makes those birdie noises in his sleep; I just know that he is dreaming about birds.

Sometimes BB is sleeping all cuddled around Bubba and she is kneading his belly, just like she did to her mom when she was a kitten. She is sound asleep, mind you. (To the extent that BB ever sleeps soundly. Bubba, OTOH, can be picked up and moved (or gently kicked to a new position) in his sleep and not wake up.)

Don't tell me that they don't dream. I'm sure that they do. And I hope that all their dreams are pleasant ones - no nightmares.
