Also, you may not want to combine your wifes loans with yours. God forbid is anything happens to either of you the full amount of the combined consolidation will be the responsibility of the remaining spouse. However, if one of you goes and the debt is not combined the debt goes with the person. Just something to consider. Because of this my wife and I each consolidated our student loans but did so independently.
