My wife and I are simple folk, with simple wants and needs. We use Microsoft Word because it is smooth and powerful (too powerful?), use`Excel for the same reasons, and use Access 2003 for our Christmas card name list. Then, unwisely, we upgraded to Office 2010 and, of course, Access 2010. The stupid program is ready to do so many things to help us that we (I) can't get it to show the list of names in Datasheet View, where each row is a record, and the columns are the fields, so we can edit it and print out the address labels. I can't get the program to let me edit the data base, and I have to fight with it to let me use our mailing label application. I would be tearing out my hair if I could.

Can you take me by the hand and guide me through the complexities of convincing Access to let me edit our database. I'd like to get into Datasheet View, because I always found that easy to work with. I have spent a LOT of time exploring the menu and talking with Help to no avail. Everything we want to do with Access should be very simple, and probably is. Neither my wife nor I are completely naïve computer users; until this battle with Access, I thought we were reasonably competent and reasonably bright. We will appreciate any help you can give, and will consider it an early Christmas present.
