According to my google search, the first time home buyer's credit is over. Ended for 2010. Does not exist for 2012.
But taxes, and the sources of information, can be very confusing and sometimes wrong. So I thought I'd double check here.

Is that right - that the credit is no more? :(

Yes. It was started in 2008, and got extended a couple of times. But unless you entered into a contract to purchase by April 30, 2010 and closed on the purchase by September 30, 2010 you are too late to take advantage of the credit.
