Very interesting, Bears. A discussion today on the Mishedlo board about how being optimistic is good for the heart. In the posted article, a reference to the "Nun Study". Had to check that out.

Apparently, there is a strong correlation between "positive" sentiments expressed by these 180 nuns in their youth (22 yrs. old av.) and longevity. Interesting the lengths to which the study went to "code" the statmements in these autobiographies written by the youthful nuns. There is another study mentioned that showed a correlation between early optimism and early death--due to engaging in risky behaviour (I'm optimistic I can beat that train to the crossing! etc.)--but what the heck.

I see the nuns were hit by Katrina, but all are well, and the nuns will no doubt look on the bright side of things.
