After lurking around MF for months its time to hop in. Lyndxai, I did the same thing. We had been married for seven years, I brought in more than 50% of our income and I decided to stayed home when our child was born. It was more than a financial shock to our marriage, it was a whole new way of life. You have been given lots of good advice on planning for the financial side of this. My daughter is now 20, happy and secure and out on her own. I found ways to make money at the kitchen table, but I didn't have lots of spare time. If I had two free hours a day it was a gift. I wouldn't trade a bigger savings account for those years at home for anything. Good luck!
