Again, “smart” has never proven to be an effective vaccine against “crazy”.

Even a PhD is subject to distortions arising from self rationalization.

Matter of fact, PhDs may be especially prone to it because they have minds capable of seamlessly shaping conclusions to fit their own presumptions.

The only antidote- a community of peers who can call each other out on their bullshoot.

That’s why peer review is so critical to the scientific enterprise. And it’s why honest researchers invite criticism of their methodology and conclusions.
