Starting to look at MOS and am trying to think of risks. This may be down on the list, but let's say the US comes to its senses on ethanol and ends subsidies and requirements for ethanol in gasoline (I don't expect this). So, that opens up some corn and corn prices drop, some is planted for other crops, etc. Would the impact be signicant on a company like MOS?Also, the long term trends seem very much at MOS's back. What do you see as their biggest risk? Thanks in advance
I will be looking at MOS some time soonBiggest risk is potash prices and then the cyclical nature of putting potash on farmland. Apparently it can be deferred for a year or two. Corn needs loads of nitrogen. Harder hit by the corn ethanol issue would be Terra, CVR, there's a couple more that are just nitrogen basically.
