AliBaba could do it.

In the tutorial I linked AliBaba is the preferred drop shipper. Why would AliBaba want to compete with customers?

What my crystal ball is saying is that any provider who is not selling commodities and who has reached a critical mass is very hard to displace. If it ain't broke don't fix it kind of thing. It would have to be a disruptive innovation. In other words, making another brand of Shopify stores is not good enough to be a real threat. In Guerrilla Marketing they call it "positioning." In the science of complexity they call it "path dependence." In traditional marketing they call it "brand names." It's different names for stickiness.
