Why does UHAL (28 7/8) trade at such a low PE to 1998 earning estimates? Bloomberg magazine thinks they'll earn over $3.50 next year, great brand name, family dispute now over and management is focused on growing company. Is this one of the most undervalued and underfollowed gems on the street, or am I missing something?

Foolishly Successful,
Glenn

I think it might be due to the bad Public Relations that they are having due to the 20/20 feature and numerous web sites reviewing the problems they are having with providing reasonable customer service or even just a safe truck.

You may want to visit some of them or do a Deja News Scan on UHaul.

You still holding? I also bought after the bloomberg article. Stock keeps going up to $35-37 only to fall back down to 27. Makes no sense. Hope the summer quarter is a good one.

While there is much to be said for long term growth, and this stock is puzzlingly ignored by analysts, if a person (like me) wants to jump in and out of the frying pan to make a nice profit on a predictable stock, this truck is a good vehicle. I have bought (21) and sold (28) three times. Is there a reason why analysts ignore UHAL? Any self described Truckers out there?!
