Am I missing something?

No, you are'nt missing a thing. JCI is a nice long-term investment, but it does not have the pop of a CSCO or INTC. The company's cyclical nature makes it easy to buy additional shares. Right now, I am scared to buy additional stocks with my "shooting through the roof" companies. I would rather buy companies that are presently offering huge discounts in their share prices. After JCI drops back around fifty...and it will...I will probably buy more.
