Amazon's retail business plan is so oddly inefficient:

1. order for book or shoes comes in
2. people and robots select the item and box it for shipping
3. truck delivers the shoes in a box to a waiting FedEx 747.
4. 747 arrives at a major hub
5. shoes in a box are unloaded.
6. truck delivers shoes whatever distance to ultimate destination.

Inefficient ... yes.

Faster ... yes.

It seems faster is what we all want nowadays.

AND it seems to be working:
BEZOS FORTUNE TOPS $105 BILLION!

(The headline is from a Bloomberg page but I haven't yet learned how to find the Internet address on this new Apple computer.)
