And that is why gymnastics can never be considered a real sport.

So you are saying no judged competition is a "real sport"? Not diving, figure skating, ski jump, anything else that depends on judges? Doesn't boxing have that too? I know several forms of martial arts do. Or is it any element of subjectivity that you don't like. Such as refs calling or not calling stuff in soccer and football. I mean even in races (who gets there first seems to be entirely objective) there are people who watch for illegal turns or starting a millisecond before the gun. That requires a person to watch and give subjective input. As evidenced by the spurious "illegal turn" brouhaha in one of the swimming races.

If you want to define "real sport" such that gymnastics falls outside of that, I don't care. But the people who compete in it are "real athletes" who train "really hard" and deserve "real respect" for their accomplishments.
