And the bempegaldesleukin/Opdivo combo looks less toxic than Opdivo/Yervoy,

ANYTHING combined with nivo (Opdivo) is less toxic than with Yervoy. I know that Yervoy can be lifesaving, but I find it terrifying. It basically unleashes an immune storm. When it had been used as the solo and more long-term treatment, the prevalence and severity of the autoimmune destruction--some temporary but totally debilitating, some permanent--was accepted because the drug saved people who would have died without it. Now, when it's paired with another immunotherapy, they give it very briefly at the start, then move to the other drug long-term. But even so, the side effects are so intense that, at least for renal cell carcinoma (which is what I'm most familiar with, personally, at this point, because of my husband), the nivo-Yervoy combination is reserved for young patients.
