https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/sep/19/america...Ever heard of an AA Golden Pass? This guy bought a LIFETIME first class ticket pass on AA. Sounds good, right? Well apparently it cost several million bucks, but he used the daylights our of it. Fascinating article. What do you think? Did AA renege? Did he cheat too much?CNC
Long but what a great read. Thank you CNC for posting. What do you think? Did AA renege? Did he cheat too much? My take on your question is: There was some questionable activity on his part. But on the other hand, AA completely mishandled it. They could have discussed their issues with him and most likely could have worked out a resolution. It seems apparent to me they were looking for an excuse to terminate these money losing passes and they exploited the situation to their benefit.
It is bad pr for AA but the guy clearly abused it. He seemed to have some issues and seemed to think AA was part of his family. Almost like some people do with work and then when retirement comes are lost. I heard about this a while ago and assumed it was AA fault but after reading some articles I changed my opinion.
