Well, the possibility of Novartis taking over Roche continues to gain attention:

Two things intrigued me. First, Novartis is said to have deep pockets, which would be a good thing for Genentech if some of that money goes to support its pipeline, which I think is the best in the business. Second, this article speculates on the strengths of the "new" biotech firm that would come from the merger of Roche's Genentech and Novartis' Chiron.
