When COVID patient Rabbi Shlomo Galster was near death, his family was called and told to rush to the hospital.

(They hadn't been allowed to stay in the hospital because of COVID.)

They were caught in heavy traffic, and when it became apparent that the family was not likely to make it in time, Ibrahim Mahir took action:

"Taking the Hebrew prayer book that was always next to the rabbi’s bed, he recited a final Shema Yisrael in the rabbi's ear during his final moments."

Kol Hakavod, Ibrahim Mahir!
