Aranknitter, I thought you guys were doing the "financial separation" thing, where your money is kept separate, and you both chip in for stuff like rent/mortgage, food, kid expenses, etc?

Even if you aren't, if *you* have three cards, it doesn't mean *he* has three cards. I am normally of the "You're married, it all belongs to both of you now" school, but until your DH shows himself to be trustworthy, I think your credit and his credit should not commingle in unholy congress. ;-)

I know, but if his car dies he can't get to work. Then if he doesn't have the cash for a new one, I'll be under pressure.
I'm just thinking of what might happen soon and trying to prepare... his car is pretty old and has already been in the shop twice this year for major repairs. Big bills each time. I can foresee that at some point in a year or two, the repair bills will get so large, and the car so unreliable, that he'll be needing a new one.

And, I know he tried to apply for a CC a few months ago and got turned down.
