Are either of your Macs currently connected via Ethernet?

You da man....gonna check that out as soon as I get home...

My iMac is only wired...have Airport turned off (have no need). The ATV is wireless and on my main network. The macbook is (obviously) wireless, but could be on part of my extended network, so don't know if that's an issue.... if so, then all I have to do is bring that computer into the main network area when we want to access it's data on the ATV

sounds like I may need to make my iMac only wireless... OR.... could I connect the ATV by wire (have a cat5 sitting there ready to hook up...)

I knew it was some configuration issue, now to start swapping hookups until they all work...

again, many thanks

Mick
(Remote controls are my next issue...but I do like the ability to control the ATV with my iPhone and iPad)
