Are we gonna get a definite answer sometime?

This thread from Reddit seems to implicate mid-90s Chevrolet Caprice and Corvette as the last to fill behind the license plate.

Replacement parts for the '95 Caprice seem to confirm this.

I'm stunned this feature lasted into the '90s. I don't expect to find this on a later vehicle.
