This buy and hold stuff may be ok in normal times, but not in a market where stocks are so utterly overvalued. 90% of the people in this market (and that means you) are NOT investors. They are speculators, who know nothing about real value. Their only interest in equities is the hope that the price will be higher tomorrow. If they think it won't be, they'll jump, and anyone who's still holding stocks on the same basis will be f*cked. The only ones who will benefit will be the true investors, for whom equities are what they should be: a share in the profits, and a say in the running, of a company. They'll (short) sell just like everyone else at the highest price possible, and buy it all back when it's in the toilet. For everyone else, goodbye life savings. Get real!
