As a newlywed, I can comment that the Knot's web site has a lot of strengths, and was my #1 online pick for wedding planning info.

However, there is significant competition from the Wedding Channel.

I question how the Knot is making money. We did not use their registry, mostly because our friends and relatives are not technically inclined.

Where is their revenue coming from? It would be interesting to take a look at the numbers.

One of the rule-breaker criteria is that the company should be in an important emerging industry. Is the wedding business important? To a bride, yes!

My feelings are mixed. The numbers should tell all. Unfortunately, we're fully invested at the time, so the Knot's not an option for us.
