As a result, there is a movement among some doctors to not accept new patients who are on those programs, and occasionally even to fire existing patients on those programs.

My next cardio appointment is on the 25th. I'm half expecting him to state he will no longer take Medicare patients after such and such a date - bye-bye, and best of luck. Very nervous about this. Still don't know who I will go to after him if there is an available doctor anywhere. I have a friend who loves her cardiologist so maybe he might be available. Will have to wait and see what transpires next week. Her cardio may tell her the same thing as I anticipate mine to do. Wondering if I should even bring the subject up. Thinking if he were going to stop taking Medicare, I'd get a notice by mail rather than get the news in person. Who knows.
