At some point Fortnite goes VR as will the majority of professional video games.

I have pretty much given up on VR tennis. First, my knees don't take well to the side to side movement. Second there is a problem simulating front to back movement, which to me is material, even though side to side movement is great.

Instead I am doing the HIIT workouts with VR boxing as the middle part of the workout. HIIT really works! My resting pulse rate it actually lower with far less time put in than when I was training more on the bike. I mean 30 minutes a work out for HIIT vs. 1 to 3 hours on the bike.

The Player One walking/running treadmill thing actually exists in the real world now. One version is available for $3,000 and weighs about 270 lbs (not much different from a traditional treadmill). There are multiple other versions (do not know the price), many still in R&D and even one that is quite large and weighs 3000 lbs. The infrastructure is developing for VR. Give it 5 years or so to mature and start to further diffuse.

That said, I can also bike on Zwift and never leave the house and still ride Box Hill climb in London. There is even a simulated Alpe d Huez. Surprisingly, when riders have time trialed the real course and the Zwift course, the times have been quite close to each other.

But no 5G required for the latter, but for the VR, if you are playing professionally, I would wager there would be no alternative.
