At the time, I was told by the seller's agent that she understood we would qualify for some type of energy credit as we are powered exclusively by solar energy. I have looked all over the IRS site but can't find anything and just sat on hold with them for the last half hour, so I thought I'd bring the question here.

I don't know about your state rules, but IIRC the federal credit for alternative energy was eliminated during the early Reagan years.
