ATM National is NOT a Surcharge-Free ATM network.

Repeat, ATM National IS NOT a Surcharge-Free ATM network. Their ATMs impose surcharges on noncustomers (cards not affiliated with their ATM National network).

They are seeking to sign up banks to pay monthly fees to belong to the ATM National network. This would give customers of many smaller banks a no-fee "shared ATM network" similar to what customers of megabanks like Bank of America enjoy. But this is not a "Surcharge Free" system, since they still impose noncustomer surcharges on everyone else.

Washington Mutual operates legitimate No-Surcharge ATMs, which means no cardholder faces surcharges. A few other organizations offer legitimate No-Surcharge ATMs.

If outfits like ATM National advertise themselves as "Surcharge Free", yet impose surcharges on "noncustomers", they may end up being sued for false advertising. Beware!
