It amazes me that the news reports are quoted as saying that the highly traded Aussie dollar was languishing on a thin margin (basically no trade) whilst the cricket was on.

What a load of poppycock!

"Wakey wakey hand off snakey" to the financial editors on this one! The fact that it may have been a holiday in another part of the world? As regards the 'highly traded' description then the financial editors must think that the AUD is as prizely sought after as the Euro or the USD is?

The AUD is one of the currencies that can be manipulated due to a couple of simple facts, one is that there are relatively few trades on large amounts of dough and (what the hell) we are a VERY small country... economically and in our population base.

The only thing that I trust about newspapers is the date and the price! Comics come a close third!

Congrats to the aussie cricketers by the way as it was a great innings... add that one to the Rugby, netball, baseball, hockey, la crosse.....
