It's a quick read, but per the article:

BAM will own 62% of OAK
Rest of OAK owned by by founders & employees
OAK shareholders have the option of cash or shares in BAM

I'm not sure how to look at this strategically. Do the firms think this a hedge against an economic downturn? I saw a seeking alpha blurb about their income streams help offset the other.
