Some pretty good news. On August 1, Bank of Internet made their Boomer Checking 40 year requirement explicit (in place of 45 years) and increased the maximum balance from $25,000 to $100,000.

Rates went down a bit in July to 2.96% (3.00% APY) under $25,000, and 2.72% (2.75% APY) over $25,000, but this checking account is more liquid than a CD and still beats rates on any 6 month CD listed today at
