I've been watching the various posts that monitor bull vs bear metrics such as NH/NL, moving averages, etc.

I track a list of approx 100 stocks based on Rule Breakers and David Gardner's picks from Stock Advisor. My cursory examination of this pool over the last year is that they entered their "bear market" a few weeks sooner than the S&P did and got out of it sooner too. And they did trigger the bear indicators back in Feb of last year although I think the S&P came close but did not. (Although I track all of those newsletter recommendations, I don't actually buy nearly that many. It more of a watchlist for me where I always own a subset based on which ones have momentum, etc.)

Has anyone tried to apply those bear indicators to a smaller pool such as this? Just curious if anyone had thoughts on this topic. Thanks
