Because it's just another gutless ploy by politicians too afraid to actually make a move and dressed up in the "but it protects the children" dress. Almost more harm has been done to civil rights in the name of "protecting the children" than by the Bush White House.

This one ranks right up there with the involuntary committments they have tried after a sexual predator has served his prison sentence. OK, we feel that sexual predators cannot control themselves and will strike again when released? Then change the laws and make the sentences for the crime, LIFE. If they're locked up they can't prey on children. It's that simple yet it seems no legislature in any state has tried that measure yet.
