So Berkshire Hathaway has made its first direct investment in India of roughly $356 million in fintech startup, Paytm. Todd Combs, one of Buffett's managers, will join the company's board.

Paytm is primarily a digital wallet/payments company, but is striving to become a big player in e-commerce and financial services (banking). Both are big, fat industries to be in right now, especially in India. Good deal for Berkshire, great news for India.

For those of you interested in learning more about Paytm and why this deal matters for Berkshire, stay tuned. I'll share the link to my article on the topic that's gonna go up on Fool.com soon.

Let's get conversations going, meanwhile!
