beth1992 - right you are . . . my sister worked in a bank and did the auto loans for one of the majors - she said she would disown me if I ever mentioned that concept to her (basically - you get nothing for your money) . . if you have to have it - buy it but the majority of "fairly newer" used cars (say, in the last 8 yrs [just my guess]) if properly cared for, checked out by a good dealership and with an extended warranty (I happen to like them - too many frills can put you "down and out") would also worth looking at . . . there's also nothing better than knowing the person down the street who "has this old car that's still in the garage" and wants to get rid of it . . .
