I had hoped to do some Big Bend Hiking, next week.
I was alerted yesterday that the park is closed until further notice.

Brewster County, the largest TX county, and home to Big Bend National Park, has been "RED! Crisis HOTSPOT!" for CV19 infections.
But, that's an artifact of the algorithm used to designate hot spots. The county has 10K population, and 147 CV cases (worldometer Texas data). That's UP from 136 a week ago... MOST of the population is in Alpine TX and Marathon TX. Everything else is isolated desert grasslands, the tourist traps along the river.
The county is now a 'golden yellow' - sort of midrange 'crisis' hotspot.

The Big Bend website reports:
Big Bend National Park and Rio Grande Wild & Scenic River will be closed to all visitors until further notice. The closure is in response to a positive case for COVID-19 in the park residential community.

Big Bend State Park is, I hear, still open.
