Bill Gates himself said, when he appeared at the University of Washington with Warren Buffett, that Coca-Cola would undoubtedly still dominate the world in 10 years. Conversely, Microsoft, in Gates' estimation, would have to pass through "three crises" to stay on top for 10 years.

As for whether Coca-Cola or Microsoft represents the "ultimate definition of what a Cash King should be", I'm not going to strain myself to decide that one. I own them both. I think each has set standards of excellence for certain Cash King criteria.

I do think Microsoft still has room to grow. The software sector of the economy, and more generally the information sector, are nowhere near reaching their ultimate sizes. Just because there has never been a $1 trillion company before doesn't mean there can't be one.
