The first is that Americans long for a president who will ask us to pay more for the pleasure of increasing the role of the federal government in our lives.

The second Democratic delusion is that Americans were robbed of the truth when Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller and Attorney General William Barr concluded that President Trump did not collude with Russia in 2016. All evidence indicates that the full report will not change the conclusion that Donald J. Trump did not collude with Vladimir Putin to secure his victory in 2016.

Rather than investigating the president further, Congress needs to investigate how the Department of Justice got this one so wrong. If the president of the United States is vulnerable to prosecutorial abuse, then God help all the rest of us. Members of Congress cannot do this themselves. We do not trust them enough with such a vital mission.

Congress should create a nonpartisan commission to find out what went wrong and to tell us what needs to be done to make certain it never happens again.

One wonders why the Republicans are working so hard to suppress the report.

If the president of the United States is vulnerable to prosecutorial abuse

There is no evidence of such abuse. Trump's own lawyer, on the other hand, has testified to criminal activities directed by Trump and has provided documentation of such crimes.

Edward R Murrow condemned Joe McCarthy's abuse of government investigations in the 1950s.

What Democrats and the news media have done has been FAR worse than what McCarthy did, since their aim has been nothing less that forcing an elected President to resign.

I would start with term limits.

The fundamental question is will the body-politic self-correct. It seems logical that the center 7% (or thereabouts) who swing each election...will this segment of voters see the current strain of Democrats-in-power (DIPs) as being out of control and replace them? It would be uber-alarming for this center-group NOT to see the current DIPs as behaving irrationally, with this almost pathological obsession with getting Trump at ANY cost, whether its by putting the Mueller report under a magnifying glass or putting DT's past tax returns under a microscope to find any morsel...any tidbit....any particles...that might suggest...and therefore will be proof positive... that DT is a criminal deserving of impeachment and imprisonment and they were right all along.

This continuous doubling-down reminds me of a poker player who has a pile of his chips out on the table but who is gradually realizing he probably will not be able to bluff his hand as he was sure he could, so when it comes his turn, he feels his only option is to see-and-raise, hoping against hope that his opponents fold before he runs out of money.

And I don't think a "non-partisan" anything will help. Mueller is likely about as non-partisan as you'll find and the left will not accept his conclusions...only their own. The same would occur with any kind of lengthy DOJ investigation. No...I think this will be up to the electorate to sort out.

The techniques and political objectives of much of the news media and politicians who have been attempting to hobble Trump and hound him from office are the same as those of Joe Mc Carthy used during the 1950s for the same purposes.

The difference is that McCarthy was one malevolent character, while institutions such as the New York Times, Washington Post and numerous Senators and House leaders are combining to make those attacks today.

I invite people to listen to Edward R Murrow's analysis of McCarthy's abuses of Senate privileges and compare them with the attacks being made on Trump today.

First off I have come to the conclusion that in our Universe it is impossible to get humans to come to a consensus on pretty much anything.

Secondly duality and separation seem to be inherent and inescapable properties of our universe, just like gravity, and you don't need to go looking for duality and separation... it will find you all on its own, and it's very rarely pleasant when it happens.

Funny - I find folks smiling and getting along fine most places I go.
There are so many beautiful and fun places to go and people seem to enjoy
themselves a lot.
Now if you watch television news or listen to commentary on the radio or
any other media - you find folks upset and arguing about - well anything
they decide to discuss. There is conflict mainly when folks decide they
know precisely how you or I must live and behave - and when they decide that
they really need to take property away from others in order to make the world
a "better place".

well - there will always be differences between folks - and overall - so far - that has
not been the end of the world.

I hope it continues.

"being suppressed. Nobody has seen them. "

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

This is exactly the type of absurd comment that should cause people
of all political opinions to laugh out loud. Absurd lack of logic.
There is no way that anyone could possibly believe that "Nobody has seen them."
Even the poster does not believe the statement.

If you truly believe something is being suppressed, someone must be suppressing the
document - and if someone is suppressing the document, you would have to believe that
the someone has seen the document. You believe that someone is nefariously hiding the
document conclusions - and given the type of people involved in all of Washington, DC
there is a zero chance that anything negative about President Trump would not have
been leaked to every agency in every country anywhere.

These are the kind of comments that you just have to see the heights of humorous
partisan "separation" as Art might say.

But taking such a comment as a serious point of view is impossible - unless you
choose to get riled up by either position in a nonsensical debate about precisely
how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

Even if you are right, who cares?
