Good start for a relationship, but how about the book by Frank Conroy?

A novel in the shape of the biography of a child prodigy. The best analogy might be the Chopin etude #3 Opus 10 in E major. One of the most difficult things to do, IMHO, is describe in one medium another sense. This book does a great job of living music in words. I admit to having a musical background, so terms of technique, pieces, all may have had more relevance to me than to others. However, if any else has read it, I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions.

Still think that etude works well. ;)
