Most believe that Boeing engineers will be able to resolve the problem quickly.

But no one knows for sure.

It's a risk.

It's been a difficult couple of weeks for Boeing. First, they reported terrific 4Q18 and FY18 earnings.

Then came the crash in Ethiopia and analyst downgrades:

But TMFGemHunter argues that long term, there 737 Max is the only game in town.

My feeling based on absolutely zero analysis of the company is that the issues facing Boeing are short term. They are going to hurt, and probably hurt bad for a while. But long term, the company will recover. There are basically 2 companies in the world that design and manufacture most of the passenger airplanes in the global marketplace and both have had their share of problems. And both have demonstrated an ability to ride out the storms and continue to not only survive but thrive.

I came across this interesting article today on CNN.com which gives you a bit of a look at how Boeing's management is looking at things:

Boeing will temporarily stop delivering 737 Max jets to airlines while it determines what caused two of those planes to crash. But it will continue building the planes. The 737 Max is the company's bestselling jet and remains in huge demand, despite two recent fatal crashes.
