This must be one of those times when you're being "unreasonable." :)

Could be . . . it does happen, hence the "usually". But in this case think "curmudgeonly" captures it better.

keep in mind, of course, that the award is determined by the community members who vote.

I must admit I had forgotten that.

Jamie Gritton, irrespective of how you feel about the subject he is passionate about, did/does an amazing amount of work to help foster that MI community. He epitomized the spirit of Learning Together and for that he certainly deserved the award.

mmmmmmmmm ehhhhhhh arrrrrgggghhhhhh I suppose you could argue that way. He did/does a lot of work, no question. But I was thinking of it more in terms of your motto . . .

Educate -- about something which makes no sense and will not make people money.
Amuse -- I don't know, he could be the funniest guy on the planet.
Enrich -- with that method? I consider it highly unlikely.

But as it was based on a popular vote, I cannot lay it at the door of the Fool, as you point out. So let me return to my more important message:
