The government is so overwhelmed by the border surge that it’s already released 168,000 illegal immigrant family members directly into communities, the government said Wednesday.
An ICE official made the revelation at a Senate hearing where she and other top immigration officials pleaded with Congress to do something to stop the surge of migrants that’s overwhelming the system.
April set new records, with the Border Patrol nabbing more than 58,000 illegal immigrants traveling as families in that month alone.
That was part of more than 109,000 illegal immigrants nabbed border wide, including at or between the ports of entry.

Immigrant Arrests Smash Records, and U.S. Border Struggles to Handle the Crush

After tens of thousands of families streamed across America’s southern border late last year, a Catholic charity in Tucson, Ariz., opened a monastery to house asylum-seeking migrants whom federal agents released.

An additional 113,797 people in families had crossed this year by the end of March, and border agents in El Paso, Texas, housed some under a bridge.

In April, a single-month record of 58,000 parents and children crossing together illegally were arrested, federal data released today show.

The Democrats' proposal not only freezes Border Patrol agent resources at current levels, it cuts by $10 million from the funding request for relocation and retention programs.

Democrats' proposal to provide a half billion dollars more than requested for "humanitarian concerns".

The description of what the humanitarian concerns entail — "medical care, more efficient transportation, food and other consumables, and ... one prototype temporary holding facility (72 hours or less)" (emphasis added) — makes clear that they are not interested in halting the illegal flow of human beings across our borders, but rather in processing them into, through, and out of the system for resettlement as quickly as possible, while doing nothing to either impede or dissuade others from making the journey. But isn't that what "border security" is supposed to be all about? Stopping the flow, not making everyone more comfortable along the way?

I see the long term plan of Democrats for Open Borders is coming to fruition.

I guess the 2016 election wasn't an adequate warning about this. Recall the impact floods of refugees into the European Union is resulting in liberals and socialists being swept from power.

Well, the 2020 election can be another referendum on "open borders."

Not really. Climate change is causing major shifts driving people from where they were to "somewhere else". You *might* have heard of the "Dust Bowl" in the US during the 1930s. That is an excellent analogy to what is happening in many places all over the planet.

It all boils down to "too many people". Overpopulation. I'm not sure there is an answer either.

We probably just have to let nature sort it out? It won't be pretty. It rarely is.

These "asylum seekers" should talk to some US Democrats and find out how horrible this place is that they're trying so hard to get into (even illegally).
