Someone here I believe over the weekend said that the Bushies took a look at this deal and determined that, based on information not available to us, that it was GOOD for America. I wonder if this is part of the information that previously wasn't available to us?Citing broad gaps in U.S. intelligence, the Coast Guard cautioned the Bush administration that it was unable to determine whether a United Arab Emirates-owned company might support terrorist operations, a Senate panel said Monday.----"There are many intelligence gaps, concerning the potential for DPW or P&O assets to support terrorist operations, that precludes an overall threat assessment of the potential" merger," an undated Coast Guard intelligence assessment says.http://customwire.ap.org/dynamic/stories/P/PORTS_SECURITY?SITE=JRC&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2006-02-27-16-04-00And yet Bush decided to go ahead with the deal anyway. Shameful.Erik
