But, DW pointed out that we will be at least under $85k by June (now she wants to use numbers and logic), she is working toward employment and exactly what is a major turn-around and why was she sticking to this strict budget and working toward a job if we were just going to sell anyway. By sell she does not mean that she cares about the actual house as much as she is extremely concerned about kids, school, community and all the safety and benefits for the kids she thinks the house location buys us.

Hi, SD,

YOU ALL ARE DOING GREAT!!!!!! $85K in less than a year; WOW!

I tend to agree with your DW. You both have made huge strides despite significant obstacles and your numbers say it's working. We've already established that a lot of your issues stem from DW's need to feel secure. If having this house, or a similar one, in that location helps her feel safe enough to continue working on the debt, maybe it's not worth the fight.

Right now she's working with you as a team, right? Forcing her to sell the house just to speed up your debt paydown may be counterproductive as she might then sabotage the progress you make by overspending. It's just another thing for you to ponder. Great job so far! :-)
