But if you're still planning on being employed in the US as you said in your first post, that's probably not going to work, since once you renounce your citizenship, you will have to have another legal way to stay in the US

Yes, for Puerto Rico I would actually have to establish residency there and not work at my current job. That is different than what I was thinking of with Belize. Thank you for the additional info. I had no idea on the $2MM limit for example.
