I concur. The operating companies' performance was weak, the annual letter was underwhelming.

But, on the bright side, with the aid of the new GAAP accounting and $81.4B in 2019 profit, Berkshire is catapulted to #4 on the list of highest annual earnings by a company!

Certainly a much cheerier way of looking at it. ;)
